Getting Ready for College Conference

West County College Access Network’s Getting Ready for College Conference will be held on Saturday, October 29th at the Richmond Memorial Convention Center. There will be presentations from the RYSE Center, Richmond Promise, the College Place, Easy Bay Consortium and more lined up for the day. WriterCoach Connections will work with students on college essays and FAFSA and CA Dream Act Application assistance will be available. Two $500 scholarships will be raffled off to WCCUSD students in attendance. All 10th, 11th & 12th graders and parents are encouraged to attend.

Workshops: Personal statement writing, choosing your best fit college, how to be competitive for college, financial aid application completion.

 

Seniors: Bring 2015 tax information to complete FAFSA or CA Dream Act and bring college essays if you have started them.

 

The event is hosted jointly by the Ed Fund, City of Richmond, West Contra Costa Unified School District, WriterCoach Connection, and the West County College Access Network, a consortium of 25+ organizations dedicated to increasing the number of college-bound students in the district.
