Position Title: Desktop Support Technician

Time Commitment: 20 + hours/week — schedule may vary according to needs

Duration: 120 Hours (Opportunity for part-time expansion)

Company Information: TechFutures is a privately funded technology training program of the Whittier Educational Foundation.  The goal of the three-year program is to provide advanced Internet applications training for high school youth to help them pursue technology related careers upon graduation from high school.  Occasionally TechFutures also has the opportunity to employ students in paid positions that enhance their classroom learning.

 

Position Description: To support the TechFutures and DAHS network by assisting faculty and staff with desktop related issues. These issues include, but are not limited to, printer problems, OS Installation, driver configuration, software installation and support, content filter updating, server updating, Active Directory account creation, and basic computer networking.  Desktop technicians should be passionate about new technologies, be able to balance workloads and prioritize tasks.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be a graduating ITA student
  • Completed at least ISDM 1 & ISDM 2 with a B or higher
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex issues
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Passionate about new technologies
  • Effective communication skills, both with students and staff
  • Willingness to take direction and learn new skills
