KHS Academy Parent Night

ON 9/22 THE Information Technology Academy invited parents and students to join the academy teachers to the first Annual Parent Night held at Kennedy High School. This was an informational night for all academy parents with refreshments and lots to see. There were tables set up with the student work and some of the technology equipment their students are working with. Tables were also set up with information about college, scholarships, high school requirements, and much more for the parents.

The parents had a chance to meet the teaching team, a Board Member and  ITA alumni. Dr. Moore explained to the parents who and what the IT Academy is and the goals our team will be working towards with their child.  They heard  from academy graduates on their experiences and what the academy meant to them and how it helped them after high school. The parents also heard from Mr. Bashor (a Board Member) about his time on the academy board and why he is still here.

The goal for the Parent Night Events is to bring the parents, students and teachers closer and help them realize that we are truly here for their students.
