Students Wanted: Solar-powered Radio-controlled Car Competition

Solar Rollers, an energy-design-program is coming to the Bay Area with space for 10 student teams. Students gain relevant industry skills that prepare and inspire them to pursue careers in renewable energy, energy storage, and engineering.  You’ll be impressed:  Program video.

Sign-up by mid-November. Teams will receive materials, design instruction, technical support & build their car to compete in the final trophy competition. Teams must raise funds for registration fee. The model is similar to First Robotics.

The program is based on high school teams designing, building, testing and racing solar-powered radio-controlled cars. Students will be using SunPower cells which power their battery-powered car.
