Ben Crosby leads the Information Technology Academy and the TechFutures program at El Cerrito High School .  Coming from the IT industry, Ben started working with TechFutures in 2003, when the program was much smaller, and was only offered after school hours.  Over the years, Ben and his team of committed Academy teachers, partners, and other educational leaders developed the after school program into a California Partnership Academy , which brought additional funding and resources to the program.  Ben teaches the data networking courses, known as Computer Systems Management I and Computer Systems Management II for the IT Academy.  Some of Ben’s former students (IT Academy graduates) currently work in the technology industry for companies such as Microsoft, Intel and TechFutures.

To compliment his work in education, Ben leads a very full personal life.  Ben enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is active in his local community as a volunteer firefighter.  He enjoys all sorts of outdoor and fitness activities, and believes that working with the young people in the WCCUSD has kept him young at heart.
