Alex Pakter
Mr. Pakter loves playing with math, science, and computers, and
teaching others about them. Teaching is his 3rd career: he was a
computer programmer (he learned to program computers when he was 7),
and got a degree in computer science from UC Berkeley. He worked for
over 10 years as a programmer and computer systems administrator. He
then worked in several real estate investing companies for 6 years,
but decided he wanted to do more for out young people. He now teaches
math and physics at Kennedy High, were he has been since 2009. He
also likes to bike, hike, canoe, to be outdoors, and to travel (he has
lived 8 years in Europe). He has two 7-year-old boys and no
television. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Education at CSU
East Bay.
